Egy gyökérkezelésre szoruló fog, amennyiben be van gyulladva, érzéstelenítés ellenére is okozhat panaszokat. Gyulladás alatt itt most azt az állapotot értem, amikor a fogbél éppen készül elhalni. Rendszerint ez az állapot hajtja el az embert fogorvoshoz. Ilyenkor nehézkes lehet a teljes érzéstelenség elérése, de nem lehetetlen. Éppen ezért is fontos a rendszeres szűrővizsgálat, elkerülendő ezt a problémát.
Minden más esetben a beavatkozás fájdalommentes.
