Anyósom 91 éves, erős szájszárazságra panaszkodik. Fogyaszt napi 2-3 liter folyadékot, de ez nem segít a problémán.
A fogai – amennyi még van – rendben vannak, a háziorvos mégis fogorvosi vizsgálatot javasolt neki.
Önök szerint is egy fogorvosi vizsgálat segíthet a probléma megoldásában? Vagy van más javaslatuk?

A szájszárazság hátterében számos ok állhat, pl. egyszerűbb vitaminhiány, nyitott szájjal való alvás, egyes betegségek (diabetes, Sjögren-kór), idősebb korban pedig jellemző a halmozott gyógyszerszedés, melyek közül lehet olyan, aminek mellékhatása a csökkent nyáltermelés.
