Pontosan kell ismernünk az összes leletét, esetlegesen szedett gyógyszereit. Illetve meg kellene nézni, hogy egyáltalán implantálható-e a terület, kell-e esetlegesen egy csontpótló műtét a beavatkozást megelőzően stb.
