Alpha Bio Implants Placed in Upper and Lower Jaw with Immediately Loaded Fixed Restoration
What brought the patient to our clinic?
Our patient visited us seeking full dental rehabilitation. Their teeth had become mobile, and receding gums were causing not only functional issues but also aesthetic concerns. The underlying cause was chronic periodontal inflammation and resulting horizontal bone loss.
Diagnosis and Proposed Treatment
Based on clinical examination and imaging (panoramic X-ray and CBCT), and taking into account the patient’s goals, we developed the following treatment plan: removal of all remaining natural teeth, followed by the placement of 6 Alpha Bio NEO implants in both the upper and lower jaws—all in a single surgical session.
How did the procedure go?
To make optimal use of the patient’s available bone, the two posterior implants in the upper jaw were intentionally placed at an angle. This strategic positioning helped avoid the need for bilateral bone grafting, thus reducing the surgical burden on the patient.
Because the implants achieved sufficient insertion torque during placement, we were able to proceed with immediate loading. In collaboration with our dental laboratory, we began the prosthetic workflow during surgery: multi-unit abutments were installed, and open-tray impressions, bite registration, and shade selection were completed at the same time.
After a diagnostic tooth try-in, the patient received their screw-retained temporary fixed restoration on the 8th postoperative day.
This temporary bridge will be replaced with a final, fully load-bearing restoration after 3–4 months, once the implants have fully integrated. In the meantime, we were able to provide the patient with a functional and aesthetically pleasing solution—helping them through what is typically a physically and emotionally challenging transition period with confidence and comfort.
