Screw-Retained Zirconia Bridge with Dental Implants – A Fixed, Aesthetic Solution for Full Tooth Loss
What brought the patient to our clinic?
Our 47-year-old patient came to our clinic with existing dental implants and was seeking a fixed, aesthetically pleasing restoration. Since the implants she had were of the same type we commonly use at our clinic, there were no obstacles to proceeding with the restoration.
Diagnosis and Proposed Treatment
To meet the patient’s high aesthetic expectations, our specialist recommended a zirconia bridge supported by screw-retained abutments. In this solution, the bridge is attached to the implants using a central screw, which is secured with a specialized torque wrench.
The primary advantage of a screw-retained bridge is its removability under clinical conditions, allowing for future maintenance, professional cleaning, or repairs if needed—without damaging the prosthesis or implants.
How did the procedure go?
Oral surgeon Dr. Balázs Záhonyi, a specialist in implant-supported restorations, began by thoroughly evaluating the condition of the existing implants. Once their stability and successful osseointegration were confirmed, the prosthetic process began with detailed impressions.
Multiple try-ins followed before final delivery, during which the specialist ensured a perfect fit, proper bite alignment, and addressed the patient’s feedback regarding tooth shape and shade. The final result was a fixed, durable, and highly aesthetic restoration tailored to the patient’s expectations.
